The BIOS is this system is not fully ACPI compliant. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad 320 laptop free DOS. And I want to install Windows XP in that. But while installing I get the error called "The BIOS is this system is not fully ACPI compliant."

Does anyone have an idea about how to solve this?

    Thanks.

  • Some details would be nice.  How are you loading XP?

Have you tried to find a BIOS update on the Lenovo website?

  • Hi Hetvi Patel.

Are you installing Windows XP using a CD or USB support?
Read the article at https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht100535 from Lenovo Support as well as the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 314830: it is highly likely you have to update you BIOS.
Check the version of your system's BIOS and update it if necessary: you can find it on the Lenovo Support web site.

    Bye.

  • Hi @Luigi Bruno,

I updated bios, but still, I could not install Windows XP. It gave the same error of ACPI compliance.
