User homed on SBA not able to sign in to Skype Mobile RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

we have one customer who have 2 standard edition Skype Front End server and few SBAs.

One of the user who currently homed on FE server/pool is able to login from mobile while one of the user who is homed in one of the SBAs are not able to login from mobile.

Both users trying to login using same mobile phone and connected to same network.

    questions are:

    1) Does Skype allowed users who are homed on SBA to login from mobile?

    2) What is the sign in process flow when user trying login from mobile client?

    3) What area need to be check when troubleshooting the issue?

    4) what need to be checked on proxy server, certificate and DNS?

Really appreciate any advise on this.

    Thanks

  • Hi masan17,

You can check your certificate in the Skype for Business Deployment Wizard as below:

Then, you can add domain.co.nz in your certificate and have a try.

  • Hi masan17,

Question 1: Does Skype allowed users who are homed on SBA to login from mobile?

In my research, mobility is supported for SBA users as the HTTPS traffic will hit one of the frontend servers IIS in a pool which will authenticate the SBA homed users and get signed in.

Question 2: What is the sign in process flow when user trying login from mobile client?

All kinds of Skype for Business clients sign in process can be divided into 5 steps:

            1) Server Discovery

            2)Connectivity Checks

            3)Authentication

            4)Optional Redirection

            5)Retrieve Settings and Policies

Question 3: What area need to be check when troubleshooting the issue?

Please check your environment of Skype for Business by Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer: https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/

Question 4: What need to be checked on proxy server, certificate and DNS?

    Yes, you’re right.

  • Hi Sharon

Thanks for your response. I did the connectivity test from the url given. from the result, it is showing error when attempting to test Autodiscover Web Service Url.

Further detail on the error says that it is due to SSL certificate validation check failed.

apparently the domain name for the sba is "domain.co.nz" while the domain name for the FE pool that the sba associated with is "domain.com.au".

the error also mentioned that "host name lyncdiscover.domain.co.nz doesnot match any name found on the server certificate"

My next question is where do i check this certificate? is it on front end server or on the reverse proxy?

Sorry i still not clear on the sign in proccess flow especially from mobile..

    Thanks
