DPM 2016 migrate data to new disk RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a secondary DPM 2016 server and i need to replace the existing drives with newer disks.

We have both attached but because we are using MBS the dpmmigratedata powershell does not work anymore.

How can i move the data from the old disks to the new. We keep 30 days of data on the drives so i dont want to delete the data and then resync. If i did that i would also have to remove all the data at once and resync all the data which is about 30TB.

is there a way to move the data in MBS?

    Thnaks

  • so i take it there is no solution to this? It worked in previous DPM versions but now there is no way to transfer data to new hardware or disk in 2016 without deleting all the backups. That is pretty rubbish

  • Hi,

no, at the moment there is no option you could use.

You could open a support case.

But by the way: We are all waiting for that Option in DPM 2016!!!

I guess no moderator is watching this anymore...
