Unable to install Web console RRS feed

  • Question

  • I tried to install the Web console as described in the Remote Operations Manager Deployment Guide on a dedicated server in DMZ:

after typing the FQDN of the root management server into the Setup wizard and clicking 'Next' everytime a message is coming up that the root management server can't be verified. There is no way to come around this message.

This happens although the web server is allowed to communicate with the root managment server on port TCP 5724.

We looked on the firewall what is happening when clicking 'Next' and saw that the only action is a connection attempt to IP address 131.107.115.28 (crl.microsoft.com?) on TCP 80, no use of the opened TCP5724, no use of any other port towards the root managment server!

I then tried to install the Web console using the CLI: the setup is running for awhile but then fails too.

Did anyone had the same problem?

  • Hi Peter,

From your post, I think this is an issue about Operations Manager 2007 Web Console. It seemed to have little to do with ROM or SCE. I suggest you using the Microsoft public newsgroups for SCOM, which would be better to find SCOM experts able to assist you.

    microsoft.public.opsmgr.setup

  • Hi,

the problem is solved: it was the missing .Net Framework 3.0.

I relied on the Prerequsite Wizard of SCOM 2007, but he didn't detect the missing framework!
