Error While Activating DirectAccess RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I need to reconfigure DirectAccess & getting activation failed error while activating configuration.

UAG DirectAccess Activation failed with the following error: Cannot create a file when that file already exists. The error occurred on object ‘AddressRanges’ of class ‘AddressRanges’ in the scope on Array ‘UAG’

    I am using a Single UAG Server & using three IP subnets , 10.9.16., 21 & 32

    Internal IP Range given : 10.9.16.1- 10.9.16.254

                                         10.9.21.1- 10.9.21.254

                                         10.9.32.1-10.9.32.254

                                          10.0.0.0/24

    Kindly help.

    Thanks

  • Probably no one from Forefront team  has any idea about this issue.

I got rid of this problem by uninstalling & then reinstalling Forefront UAG.

  • From the website you have looked at before:

From further investigation it seems like that this issues is caused in scenarios where you are using an admin account with a dot (".") in the username like david.smith or firstname.lastname. Workaround is to use an admin account without a dot (".") in the username.

Does your username include a dot?

  • Yes, User name include a dot, but I have checked it with another user without any dot as well, but with no success.

  • Not good, but I have had to also do that in the past when I received a different activation error I could never get rid of :(
