What Mistake i am doing in restoring production Database of a MOSS site Backup in my test server RRS feed

    HI ,

    Production team gave me back up of moss site -it is database back up..as they told tis thing

     i opened sql server and attached same file witha new name of database...this part done

    Now i opened central admin created 1 web application  but no site collection here i gave test DB name after successfull creation i removed the content data bse for ths web application and added new content database with same name as SQL server...

    it is done

    Now i open site -http://machine:webappli port/

     but it is giving 404 error

     how to do this anything else required

    am I missing anything?

    NO:( i create with new name after successful creation i delete this centent database  and attach same as of SQL.

    By this step i have done .

    Let's rule out some basic information first: -

    1. When you created the web application, did you attach the database copy rather than using a new one?
