MOSS document library Offline/Sync RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

One of my client is planning to migrate from SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) to Office 386.

During the discovery, we have been made aware that there are some users that may have sync a document library to use offline.

I was wondering if there is any ways we can identified which library is synced? or at least which users.

I have been researching and can't find any way to validate that.

I can only assume that they might have installed SharePoint workplace, and using Groove option to sync the libraries. Do you think if there is any way to identity that?

I was thinking to run a script to identify if anyone has installed the following? not sure how but maybe something similar like GPO , no?

    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\Groove

I have also been looking at the IIS log files, and I can see a lot of DLL files referenced. Such as following directories:

    http://[site-name]/sites/[site-name]/_vti_bin/_vti_aut/

also some file accessed stats like:

    http://[site-name]/sites/[site-name]/[DocLibrary]/_vti_bin/_vti_aut/ author.dll

     http://[site-name]/sites/[site-name]/[DocLibrary]/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll

I appreciate these are the server files and they are indslled under SP directory under the HIVE location. I might be wrong, but could these files used by the SharePoint Workspace.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks.
