WSUS - Windows 2008 Standard and Enterprise servers will not check in to WSUS console RRS feed

  • WSUS - Windows 2008 Standard and Enterprise servers will not check in to WSUS console - R2 servers checked in and downloaded WSUS updates properly

    Last check in date couple of days ago

    Error code in windows update log:

    Warning: failed to filter search results, error = 0X8024000B

    For the error you mentioned above, please try if this method could work:

    Rename the Spupdsvc.exe file, and then try to install the updates again:

    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. Copy the following text, paste it into the Run box, and then click OK or press ENTER:
      Cmd /c ren %WinDir%\System32\Spupdsvc.exe Spupdsvc.old

  • Hi,

    I ran the command

    Cmd /c ren %WinDir%\System32\Spupdsvc.exe Spupdsvc.old

    Windows 2008  server was then able to detect windows updates online

    AFter windows updates detected online server checked back into WSUS console!
