Geting Crypt acquire context failed with 0x8009000f. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm getting Crypt acquire context failed with 0x8009000f in my certificatemaintenance.log file.  I have tried every solution that i found in my research i was curious if anyone has any other ideas.

    1) Deleted the 19xxx cert from the machine keys folder, restarted the agent - failed

    2) Renamed the Crypto Folder, restarted the agent - failed

    3) Removed server from the domain, deleted ad object, deleted sccm object, rejoined to the domain - failed

    4) uninstalled the agent, deleted the sms cerficate folder from the registry, deleted all sccm client keys from the registry, reinstalled -failed

    5) Changed permissions on the 19xxx.sys file to include administrators full control and system - failed

This is only happening on a handful of clients.  Any idea's would be helpful.

  • Have you open the certificates snap-in and reviewed what certs are actually in the SMS store for the local system?

Also note that the 19xxx file name was for ConfigMgr 2007 client certs and not necessarily for 2012 -- I've never looked.
