force install XDDM driver? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have 2 graphic cards, one Geforce4 MX440 and one Geforce FX5500. I see now the Gefore4 MX440 only have XDDM driver for vista but I want my dual monitor to work as in WINXP(I know I will lose Aero but I don't mind). Therefore, I need to force install XDDM for Geforce FX5500 so both of the cards using XDDM to make them to both working.

I tried to install XDDM from the FX5500 driver CD but vista said  it determined that WDDM is the latest and not allow me to install the old XDDM driver.

I read from windows vista articles that I need to force install XDDM driver to replace WDDM driver but googled around but no luck.

Could someone know how to force install XDDM ?

    thanks in advance.

  • Go to the Device Manager

Select the device, Update Driver, Browse my computer for driver software, Browse and select the xddm driver,....
