Sharepoint 2010 Assets Web Database customization questions RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm looking to customize the Assets Web Database site on our Sharepoint server. I would like to make some changes to a filtered subform so that new records default to certain values. I'm having trouble finding documentation for this. Where can I look?

  • Hi,

the Assets Web Database is basically a web based access databased that could be customized through Microsoft access. For this go to options and edit open in Access.

Once you loaded the database into access it will look like this:

Now you can customize whatever you want. At the end go to "File" --> Info -> Sync all

You will find a brief introduction on the msdn how to create new web databases:

    Hope this helps.
    kind regards

  • I think you have to use MS ACCESS for this one. Can you open the site within MS access? there you can change the forms..

  • Umm... yea, opening this in Access was pretty self explanatory. However, not all of the features of a regular Access database work in a Web Database.

So, once I've opened the database, and I start tweaking the form, writing macros and such, is there a reference I can go to? Something that identifies where I can use standard Access practices, and where I can't?

    Documentation?
