Troubleshooting the Project Compare Feature in MS Project RRS feed

    Hi Project Community,

    I am trying to compare to projects in MS Project 2013. Here are the steps that I am taking:

    1. Open project 1
    2. Navigate to Report-->Compare Projects-->Browse-->select Project 2
    3. Select "Entry" for both Task Table and Resource Table. Both projects appear side by side
    4. Select "Task Comparison" under the Compare Projects tab.

    I now get the following error message:

    "There are too many columns of a certain type in the currently selected task or resource table. For each column in the table you selected, the report includes three custom fields to show the values in the current project, the previous version, and the difference between the two. Tables can be modified by going to the View tab, Tables menu, and selecting More Tables. Click OK to continue with less columns. Click Cancel to return to the previous dialog."

    When I click OK, the comparison report is blank. Has anyone seen this error before and know what to do about it?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

    Are your 2 projects similar or completely different? If you try to compare 2 simple projects with just a few tasks, does it work?

    Hope this helps,
