RSAT windows 10 enterprise BUILD 9926 error - Not applicable to this image RRS feed

  • Question

  • Trying to install the RSAT for windows 10 enterprise build 9926 and I receive this error: "The specified package is not applicable to this image"  The error is 0x800f081e

I downloaded the RSAT for the windows 10 TP (WindowsTH-KB2693643-x64) so either build 9926 is too new or I am doing something wrong.  Any help would be great!

  • Anyone remember how long it took for a resolution in previous builds?  It's not a huge deal, just a little pain in the butt :(

    is Microsoft watching this thread!!!

I need a frown face for this! lol

  • For all of those on this thread, I hope that you've used the Feedback app
and not just posted to this thread in order to get an email about this
    issue sometime in the future.

The more reports Microsoft gets through the Feedback app, the more priority
    will assigned to this issue.

  • Ditto on the feedback aspect.  I just added to the feedback and it is only at 25 with other things up around 190 already.

  • Same here, tried all of the methods that worked previously. A lot of us really need RSAT, so please, let's get an updated version Microsoft. I've upvoted the Windows Feedback thread as well.

  • One option is to create a Windows7 or 8.1 VM using Hyper-V and install RSAT on it. At least we can get our work done while they fix the tools.

  • I hope they could fix it asap.

  • But surely this shouldn't have had to be reported via the feedback app? Surely this is something that is obviously needed and shouldn't have to be reported via feedback?!

I'm not talking about if this will get fixed, I'm talking about the
potential to have an impact on when it gets fixed.

I'm on a domain and both the Feedback app and the Store (both Store apps)
work fine for me. Perhaps you mean on a domain-joined computer where no
Microsoft account is linked with the domain account? If so, I believe there
are some changes coming with respect to that issue.

  • All Non EN-US guys:

    Download EN-US Pack

    http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/updt/2015/01/lp_771278e1cab3128638951dd4e2e7ce292b030921.cab

From command line or WIN+R run "lpksetup" choose downloaded file and install. Follow this guide if stuck:

    http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-install-an-mui-language-cab-file-in-windows-10/

Now download January 2015 RSAT pack: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=45520

Now it should install OK (it did for me!)
