RDS RemoteApp Collection Export RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I know in 2008 there was a way to export the RemoteApp collection and import it back in.  In 2012 R2 this option is removed and the collections from what I understand is not easily exportable.  Has anyone tried this?  Is there a powershell method of doing this?

  • Hi,

Yes, you can use the RDS PowerShell cmdlets to do it if you want.  Main difference is there is no single command like in 2008 R2 to export everything at once.  What you would do is export things individually instead.  For example, get properties of the deployment, get list of collections, get properties of each collection, get list of published RemoteApps for each collection, etc.

Depending on what you are trying to do you may only want to export/import a portion.  For example, just export/import the list of RemoteApps for each collection may be the biggest time savings.
