My HP Pavillion DV6000 uploaded updates on Friday 12th Sept and went through 100% of install, when I restarted for updates to take effect, it has thrown the following error.
ntoskrnl.exe missing or corrupt after update (error 0xc0000098)
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
Windows failed to load because a required file is missing or corrupt.
The laptop has OEM Vista home premium and XP Pro Office loaded, I do not have recovery disks and it will not let me go back.
I have no idea what the updates were, can only assume it was Service pack 1, but unsure why this only came through on Friday as it appears this has been available for a while now.
I am completely flumexed, please HELP.
