Assign DHCP options by scope groupings RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,
Is there an easy way to assign DHCP options (such as router, DNS settings, etc.) based on a grouping of scopes.  For example if I have 100 scopes is there any way to break up the scopes into 4 different groups and assign each different options.

    Thanks a bunch.

  • No,  there are only Server level options, and Scope level options.  Scope Level options override Server level.

I usually use the Server level options as the "default" option, and only create Scope level options when the default does not apply.

If you have a lot of existing scopes that need to be reconfigured i would look into scripting something or look for a utility that may help you configure the scopes as needed quickly.

    netsh dhcp for example.
