You can use the Tracking Log Explorer information to learn about this. Just search on any message that he was included on and see if it's been sent on to the external address. You may wish to tell him that items marked as Private will not be
forwarded.

Find that user in Recipient Confirmation > Mailbox. Right click and select Properties. Under the Mail Flow Settings double click Delivery Options. Any forwarding set for the user will be set here.
