Can't delete site through SharePoint Online Management Shell

    Question

  • Hello,

I'm trying to delete a site at our SharePoint Online. Through the web interface I only get an error that I have no access to do that but my account is Global Admin in our O365 tenant so I should be in the "Company Administrators" in SharePoint which is the account that owns the site I'm trying to delete.

So I tried from the SharePoint Online Management Shell but then I'll get this error,

    PS E:\Scripts\o365> Remove-SPOSite -Identity https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/contentTypeHub -NoWait

    Confirm
Are you sure you want to perform this action?

  • The contenttypehub site collection is one that is created by Microsoft to be used for publishing Content Types to the rest of your tenant.  Since its created by the system it is protected from being deleted.  Why do you want to delete it?

Aha, ok. Thanks for the information, I thought and application I installed created that site and I should reinstall the app and then thought I had to remove that site.

Ok, all good then, It seemed that I just needed to uninstall the application from the page. Thanks for the information. =)
