Deleted photos still showing up in Start screen

Question
-
I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro. I copied several photos from my USB drive into pictures library. I noticed that my pictures can now be viewed in photo live tile in Windows's 8 Pro Start screen. I deleted photos from pictures library. Windows confirmed that the files were permanently deleted yet the pictures are still showing in photo live tile. Why are deleted photos showing up in Start screen? How can I prevent this from happening?

If you go to:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.windowsphoto_[random characters]\LocalState\
you'll find cached copies LargeTile?.jpg and SmallTile?.jpg
Delete the images you don't want (or replace them with ones you do want) then go to the start screen, turn off the live tile then turn it back on again.
Hope that helps.

Deleted photo's weren't in this folder, but were still showing on the live tile. Disabling update, and then reenabling seems to have cleared the cache of deleted photos.

Try:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Photos_[random]\LocalState\PhotosAppTile
At least that was the path on two of my PCs.
Best Regards,
David
