Port opening! RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I've got a windows7 server and i opened port 25 in windows firewall but i can see that this port is not open and when i check it on cmd , netstat -a it is not showing that port , please tell me what can i do in this case and also please let me know what the problem might be and can it be fixed by using cmd.

  • 1. What is the purpose of opening port?

    2. Which direction do you consider?

    3. Windows 7 is not server

    4. If there is application that needs open port 25, then bind this port to application.

    5. Ask more knowledgeable coleague in your vicinity for help if you cannot complete previous.

  • Please start the application or service which needs this port. Also ensure your application is configured to use this port. It is the application which will open or close (bind to port) the port. Otherwise, it will not show up in cmd :-)
