  • Question

  • I continue to get a microsoft pop-up "Choose your home page and search settings" that doesn't respond when I click on it.  I have to restore my computer to an earlier date to get rid of the annoying pop-up. Microsoft is obviously responsible for the pop-up, why can't they fix it???

  • Hi,

Its caused by one of your IE Addons.... which is reseting your homepage and search provider settings each time you start IE...
Perhaps Spybot Search and destroy? Enigma Homepage protection? Norton Homepage protection? These are no longer compatible with IE... you should disable or uninstall them.

Uninstall the responsible addon.... your current homepage settings will probably remain.. If not you will have to manually choose your own homepage settings from Internet Options>General tab.

    Regards.

  • Hi jameskjohnnie,

First, we could start the IE with no add-on mode to check. If it works fine, the issue could be caused by add-on.

Meanwhile, did you have the issue after the update for IE? Please check the Windows Update and uninstall the KB3175443 if you have installed it.

Hope it will be helpful to you
