I have a HP Pavilion laptop with Windows Vista. When I put a CD/DVD in nothing happens. This has happened before, and tech support said to go to start, then run and type "devmgmt.msc". Then to click "+" beside DVD/CD-Rom drive and select Uninstall, then
restart my notebook and Windows will automatically find the hardware and install the driver. This worked the first time that I tried it. When this happened again I followed these instructions, but after restarting my notebook I got the message "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM
GSA-T50L ATA Device Failed".
