Upgrade to R2: is upgrade of back-end databases to SQL Server 2008 R2 required for full support? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are in the process of upgrading FIM 2010 to R2 for one of our customers. Database is still SQL Server 2008. According to some sources, SQL Server 2008 R2 would be one of the requirements for upgrading.

Can anyone tell me please whether or not FIM 2010 R2 will be fully supported when databases will still run SQL Server 2008 SP1 or later? Or do we need to have our DBMS upgraded to R2 as well?
