cannot open SharePoint 2013 Central Administration – HTTP 500 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I cannot open SharePoint 2013 Central Administration – HTTP 500.

Couple days ago, I had a problem to open the site collection – “permission error”. I run the SharePoint Configuration tool. I was asked to disconnect from the farm and then reconnect to the fame. After the re-configuration was completed, I am able to open the site collection and have worked with the site collection for couple days. However, I am unable to open the Central Administration (HTTP 500). The port number was 9999 and I have double check in IIS and confirm the port number. The SharePoint Admin service, the application pool and Central Administration site are with the right account and running without any error in IIS. I just wonder if the port number has been changed or is there a way that I can re-connect to the Central Administration without restore the server. Thanks in advance.

  • Re_ran the Config wizard and re provision the Central Admin.

This time select option "don't disconnect" and also on next screen select this site will host the Central Admin.

it will e provision the Central Admin without farm rebuild.

    thanks
