DNS Debugging - How to get Resolved IP of DNS Query RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I have enabled DNS debugging with below options :
Packet Direction :- Both Incoming & Outgoing Enabled
Packet Type : Both Queries and Response Enabled

    Packet Content : Queries/Transfer

I want to know the resolved IP of any DNS query, how i will get that?
    e.g. : If I do,

    C:\>nslookup google.com
    Server:  UnKnown
    Address:  192.168.0.1

    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name:    google.com
    Addresses:  2404:6800:4009:801::200e
              216.58.220.174

What I need to do to get the resolved IP ( 216.58.220.174) in DNS debug logs, I have enabled above mentioned settings.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your question.

You need to enable 2 more options of DNS debug logging. The options have been marked in yellow in the picture below.

The test result is shown in the following figure.

    Best regards,
