Offline files are not in the CSC directory, so where are they? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to find out where my offline files are stored.  They are NOT in the c:\windows\csc directory and our SysAdmin does not know where the folder is located.

I know that I can VIEW the contents and I know that I can click to find them, but nothing will show me the actual path.

Advice from many others is about changing the location, but I do not need to do that.  I just need to know where they are.  I cannot seem to find a regisry key with the current location.

(I am trying to find the c:\ drive path to also sync with a flash drive and it will not accept a network path.)

  • Perhaps this will help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/230739

"The Offline Files (Client Side Cache, or CSC) folder/database comprises multiple folders and is located in the %SystemRoot%\CSC folder by default. The CSC folder is hidden by default and should not be modified in any way."
