  • Hi,

Installing the update for Microsoft Office 2007 components can improve the security, performance and stability. It is not recommended to disable the Microsoft Update.

If you still want to stop the Security Updates for Microsoft Office 2007, you may perform the following steps.

    1.    Launch Windows Update.

    2.    Click Change settings.

    3.    Uncheck “Give me updates for Microsoft products and check for new optional Microsoft software when I update Windows” under Microsoft Update.

    4.    Click OK.

    Good luck!

  • You may well have the Word, Powerpoint or Excel viewer installed. If so, that is the reason for the download.

  • You may also have the office compatibility pack installed.
