Cannot edit or remove contact group in contact public folder RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everybody!

We have a single Exchange 2013 server. On this Server we have several public folders in one public folder database. One of these public folders is a contact public folder (i.e. only contacts and contact groups are in this folder) which you cannot delete and which you cannot edit. We found out that this is because the contact group is beyond its Limit.

However, we want to delete the contact group in the public folder.

What we have tried so far:

Outlook 2013: right click on the contact group -> delete leads to the following error message: There is not enough memory available on Microsoft Exchange to perform the operation. Contact your system administrator

MFCMAPI: Attempt to delete leads to following error: MAPI_E_NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY

How can we accomplish to delete the contact group?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanx in advance!

  • You can move the contact group (that's an easy one and nobody solved it *lol*):

Right click the contact group and "move" it to your personal contacts. Now the contact group is not in your public folder anymore. Then you can drag and drop the contact group to the desktop. Double click the the group and edit it (delete some addresses to make it smaller). After this you can drag it back into the public folder. That's it folks, thank you for your applause.
