In Private Browsing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am just noticing something. Hope someone can clear me. I have just installed a Windows 8.1 as a VM. On workgroup, I can see the in-private browsing option. But once I joined to my domain, that option disappeared. I went to my GPO on my DC to see whether the Turn off In-private browsing has been enabled but it is not.

Any idea what could cause this?

    Thanks,

    Ashley

  • hello,

Actually I have created a policy used to hide the system clock. When unlinking that, this has shown the menu in-private browsing again.

I didn't know that will cause such a thing.

    Thanks,

    Ashley

None.  But I think it may help to check the scope of the symptom.  E.g. can you still use InPrivate Browsing mode then?  Press Ctrl+Shift+P  for example.   Or Run...  iexplore.exe  -nohome  -private

Those last two tests could be traced by ProcMon.  So, if they don't let you open IE in InPrivate Browsing mode, ProcMon could help show you why.

    Good luck
