Windows 10 Quick Access links not syncing with folder redirection

  • Hello everybody,

This week I upgraded a couple of computers from windows 7 to windows 10.

In windows 7 you could synchronise the "favourites" links in explorer between workstation using folder redirection for the "links" folder of a user profile.

In windows 10 this, sadly, isn't working anymore.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue, or what the location is where the links for quick access are stored?

    Best regards,

  • You mean the favourites folder for Windows explorer, right? Not the favourites for IE?

It should works for Windows 10 also. what do you mean by "isn't working", any error message?

  • Hi Jacob,

I do indeed mean the favourites folder for windows explorer.

What I mean by isn't working is that when a user adds a new item to the quick access list, the item is not displayed in the "links" folder and is (therefore) not synchronised with the other workstations.

I do not get an error message.

    Thank you for your help!

  • I'm having this same issue. We used folder redirection with the Links folder in order to customize a user's Favorites list. This doesn't seem to work with Windows 10.
