upgrading to windows 10 pro. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Purchased a windows pro 7 from Dell in 2016 which came with a windows Pro 10 disc which states on it that it is already installed.  I used pro 7 over 2 years and decided to upgrade to pro 10 at they stated pro 7 would eventually not be supported.  I don't know how I upgraded it, i just stuck the disc in the dvd player and it uploaded.  I hated it, and somehow finally got it uninstalled.  Now Ii i need to reinstall it but cannot figure out how.  The computer said is had so many times I could use the disc but I haven't used it. I have inserted it into the dvd player but I don't know what to do after that.  Has anyone else met up with this?  Window's auto updates tries periodically to install it but gives me the error 8000 4004400419 windows encountered an unknown error.

  • Hi,

I'm not sure if I can understand your issue.

If you want to upgrade from Windows 7 to 10, please refer to this article:

If you're using Windows 10, please repair your Windows in PowerShell as administrator.
      1) Right-Click [Start] > click [Windows PowerShell (administrator)]
      2) type DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth > [Enter]
      3) type sfc /scannow > [Enter]
