Windows messenger error RRS feed

  • When ever i click to open windows messenger i always get a message saying that the app failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see apps event log for more details.  How do i fix this error?

  • Hi,

    This issue may occur due to corruption in the previous instalation files.

    Please uninstall everything related to WLM from Control Panel, download an old version from one of these sites.

    If the issue persists, Try this method :

    Start button > search box, type regedit > pressEnter key > (uac prompt) > expand (click the pointer in front of )HKET_CURRENT_USER > expandSoftware > expandMicrosoft > expand MSNMessenger > expand PerPassportSettings > under PerPassportSettings, find 2 folders with a series of numbers > delete both folders including their sub-files > Exit regedit window.
    Restart messenger.
