DPM Backup Job failed on replica of Exchange DB RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a three Exchange database of 24.1 GB/105 GB/49 GB (It's configure on DAG .three servers are available) . I have set synchronization after 30 minutes. Express full backup is configured to run 9:00PM daily. Now problem is that, all incremental backups running fine (after 30 minutes). But when Express full backup run at 9:00 AM, It's fails with this error. :

Job failed on replica of ExchnageDBName on ExchangeServerName because of ongoing synchronization. (ID 95)

Happen is DPM 2012 not clearing exchange 2013 log files

We are using DPM 2012 R2 and Exchange 2013

    Below event are available

    Log Name:      Application
    Source:        MSExchangeIS
    Date:          xxxxx
    Event ID:      9827
    Description:
Exchange VSS Writer has successfully completed the full or incremental backup of replicated database 'xxx'. The log files will be truncated after they have been replayed.

    Log Name:      Application
    Source:        MSExchangeRepl
    Event ID:      2046
    Description:
The Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS Writer instance xxxx has successfully completed the backup of database 'xxxx'.
Database log truncation has been requested for this database. Log truncation will occur on the active copy after the next log generation is created. Log truncation will occur automatically on the passive copies after that log file is copied.

    How to resolve this,

    Thanks,

    Gayan

  • Hi Gayan,

The issue seems to be caused that the synchronization is not finished when backup is ready to start. Please test to change the sync-time longer and see if the express full backup could be finished during the interval.
