RServer - RBroker performance question RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We're using the RBroker framework and have a couple of performance related questions.

We’ve found that when using the 'discrete broker' option results aren’t returned for 3-4 seconds, which is way outside of what we need (<500ms). If we use the 'pooled broker' option, results are returned quickly but state is maintained, which is not what we want. we have worked around the maintained state by making sure that all variables are unset at the start of the R script, but that seems like it should be unnecessary.

  • how long does it take for your script to run in a standard R console?  Is your DeployR server running on Windows or Linux?  Pooled Broker is intended to maintain state.  A typical use case is to create a pool of 10 projects and load a model into each project.  Then you can use that pool for near real-time scoring scenarios

  • Thanks @davidc20,

Are you (or is anybody else!) aware of any published info on typical usage scenarios?
