How to re-active Windows 10 on a new PC

    Question

  • Hi,

I upgrade Windows 10 insider preview from Windows 8.1 before, I knew that if I re-install Windows 10 on my current computer, I can login my Microsoft account, then active this computer successfully.

However, my current computer is too old, I want to buy a new computer, I was worried about the activation, I think I can't active Windows 10 with my Microsoft account on a new computer, is it correct? Is there a way to solve it?

  • If you buy a new PC device with Windows 10 installed, it will be already activated, no further action is required.

If you buy a PC device with an earlier Windows OS, you will need to purchase a retail version of Windows 10 and when you install I, it will automatically activate.

You can not transfer your W10 on old PC device to the new PC.
