Problem backing up SQL 2005 database in DPM 2012 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are trying to backup SQL 2005 database on a win2k3 server with DPM 2012 R2 rollup update 9.

When trying to add the databases to backup the following message occurs:

One or more prerequisites for protecting this data source is missing.
Ensure that the following prerequisite software is installed on server and/or all nodes in the cluster.
Also ensure they are installed on the servers that are hosting a mirrored instance of SQL Server.

    I am using DPM 2012 R2 rollup 9 on a win2k8 R2 SP1 server. The server im trying to protect is w2k3 sp2, SQL 2005 sp2.

I tried installing KB940349 hotifx on the 2003 server, issue remains. Tried reinstalling the DPM agent on the 2003 server, issue remains. Ive checked the DCOM configuration for the DPMRA service on the server and the security settings is OK. Also tried to refresh the connection to the agent but this didnt work either.

However, I am able to protect the C: drive and Systemstate on the 2003 server. The issue is only with the SQL database.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Todd
