DPM 2012 R2 Console Crashes after adding Hyper-V VM hosted on SOFS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are currently testing a new SOFS for use in production.  Although we can back up the VM's sucessfully.  Adding a VM to a DPM protection group that is hosted on a SOFS will cause the local console to crash whenever you click on the Management tab.  And the remote client will crash on load.

Removing the VM from all protection groups will then fix the console crash.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Also as a side question.  Is there any way of doing a DPM re-install and recover protected volumes WITHOUT performing a database restore?  I fear it must be something in our DB that is corrupt and I would like to try a clean install without losing the historical data we have.

    Thanks.

  • Can you attach DPM agents on each of the SOFS nodes and test, if you haven't already?

    Thanks.
