Scheduled Auto Login

    Question

  • I need to execute a scheduled task while the windows session is locked. The session must be locked for security reasons.

I would like to run a bot at midnight, but this software needs to be logged in. It is possible to unlock the session using the task scheduler? After bot finished the task, it can locked the sesion.

Please thank you for your help.

  • Hi Bartolome,

Although this is outside of the scope of the Autoruns forum, I'd be happy to help.

Can you answer a couple of questions to help give me more context?

    • What Windows OS(s) does this question apply to?
    • What does "this software needs to be logged in" mean? Does it require any user interaction like inputting a password or clicking the GUI? Or, does it just need to be running under the context of a user rather than SYSTEM privileges?
    • Does the software need to be run with high integrity privileges? (does it trigger a UAC prompt when launched?)

With that info, I should be able to give you a bit more context regarding your options.

    Kyle
