Customized home page for each user RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi ,

I have an urgent requirement in which there should be Customized Home page for each user.

For example when a admin user visits the site then on home page he should see the links of those webpages or doc which is relevant to him, same for management  or user.

There should be the option to add that link to his favorite so that next time when he visit the page it should be in favorite section of home page for that particular user only.

  • Hi,

isn't his only a matter of security for groups/users on the SharePoint site?

Admin will have access to all content, Management to their libraries and same for Users.

Depending on how many users you have but you can have a Document/Other Library for each user, with appropriate permissions. That way each user will see only their own stuff or content available for everyone.

What exactly do you want the user to see? Documents? Any shared files? Any forms?

  • Basically the users sees the webpage

For example if user is higher management then he should see on his homepage the reporting page as suggested page

but for other user it would be like learning page.

Also can we have igoogle type of feature where user can add his choice.

  • Hi,

From your description, my understanding is that you want to customize home page for different user.

There are two methods to accomplish your requirement. You could create a webpart with code or a control the page that redirect to a new page based on the users or groups.
