Project Server 2010: A single user has a problem viewing one of his projects in PWA. RRS feed

  • Question

  • One user can't see his project in web. When he clicks on the project it shows him a blank page.

Other users are able to see this project and he can see other projects correctly.

He has cleared his IE cache and Project Professional cache, it hasn't helped.

    Any pointers? thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

is he/she able no project detail page (PDP) for this particular project at all? What happens if you switch from one PDB to another. Are the buttons in the ribbon active? Do you see any issues in the ULS Log?

  • The page is just blank, although the top ribbon bar can be seen.

  • I would suggest to check the ULS log when the blank page is loaded. You might get some hint.

Ask the PM to check if he has blank rows in the plan. There was a issue addressed in June 2013 cu.

    Project Server 2010 hotfix package (Pjsrvwfe-x-none.msp): June 11, 2013 - ''

When you use a template that contains a null task to create a project in Project Web App, the project cannot be displayed in Project views.
Note A null task is a blank row between rows.

If this is case, please delete the blank line as workaround and publish the plan.

Few customers got timesheet submit problems post June cu 2013, so do properly test in dev environment, if above is the issue.

If this isn't the case, let me know if you find any info from ULS log.

  • Since other users can see the project, this seems like a permission problem.  Confirm that the problem user is a member of exactly the same Group(s) as a user who can see the project.  Hopefully, Categories are not directly associated with Users; if they are you will also have to check that the Category permissions are exactly the same for the two users.

You wrote that other users can see the problem user's project.  Can the problem user see other users' projects?  In other words, is the problem specific to a project, or to the user's PWA?
