  • Is your user in the FIM Portal with the minimum required attributes? (Domain, ObjectSid, AccountName)
    Tuesday, September 16, 2014 12:27 AM
  • Hi, thanks for your fast answer. My user "Britta Simon" has the follows attributes:

    * Account Name: bsimon
    * First name: Britta
    * Last Name: Simon
    * Departament:IT
    * Domain: lab
    * Domain Configuration:LAB
    * E-mail Alias: bsimon
    * Employee ID: 9
    * Employee Type: Full Time Employee
    * Job Title: manager

    Where can I find the ObjectSid Attribute?.... I found the Resource SID attribute, but this attributte is empty.
    Could this be the problem?

  • I assume that the user lab\bsimon is created in your LAB domain? If so, just add import flow at Active Directory Management Agent from AD: ObjectSid to Metaverse: ObjectSID. Moreover, in FIM Service management agent add export flow of ObjectSid Attribute.

    You have to have those three attributes filled (account name, domain and objectSID) to let user to log in to FIM Portal and to let him register / reset password.

  • I added in my synchronitation rule "AD synch Rule" a outbound attributte flow "ObjectSid -> ObjectSid" and I added in my AD Management Agent from Synchronization Service Console a import flow of ObjectSid attribute (Data source object type "user" and metaverse object type "person").  However, the problema has not been fixed.
    what else could be? is well what I did?

    And yes, my user is created in my lab domain :).

  • it would not be in Synchronization Rule - you have to enter FIM MA agent and add export flow of object SID.

    Then, invoke Import and Synchronization on AD MA, and Export on FIM MA. Then please confirm that you have ObjectSID in user's attributes filled in FIM Portal. Now you should have it fixed or at least another error would be shown.

  • My FIM MA has export flow Object SID. Users in AD have the ObjectSid Attribute, but for users in FIM Portal I can't find this attribute. Only I can see MV Resource ID, Resource ID, Employee ID and Resource ID. the last one has a gray box with three buttons: Export, Browse and clear. The gray box is empty. is this right?

  • Do you see this attribute filled in metaverse using "Search" view? If so and if you have Export Attribute Flow - it seems that you have it at the portal site. Especially if you have "Export" button enabled in Advanced View.

    What is happening now if you try password reset? Do you have the same error?

  • Hi, I used the metaverse search and my users have all attributes filled.
    The attributes are follows:

    AccountName: bsimon

    csObjectID: 3052821f-3b01-4078-a501-dbaa6e8b73bf

    Departament: IT

    displayName: Britta Simon

    domain: lab

    employeeID: 9

    employee Type: Full Time Employee

    first name: Britta

    last name: Simon

    ObjectSid: 01 05 00 00 00 00 00 05 15 00 00 00 79 72 D4...

    expectedTuleList: AD Provicioning Synch Rule.

    The message error talk us about sourceSids, Type targetType and Boolean forceSuccess. these are the variables that must be filled out?

    When I use Password Reset Portal I get the following message: " Access Denied: Ensure your enter your user name correctly. If you still cannot reset your password, please contact your helpdesk for assistance"... This Error Alert could be because the user has not registered in the FIM Password Registration Portal ?

    Thank you very much for your help and time.

  • There are two main places (or one if you have FIMService at hte same box as Password Registration/Reset portals).

    If you are trying to figure out what is wrong with the password registration portal:

    1. Log in to FIMService node
    2. Log in to Password Registration Portal Node
    3. Open Eventvwr (Event Viewer) on both.
    4. Open Internet explorer and repeat steps to invoke error
    5. Once error would be displayed, check event viewers on both servers - you would have the reason why you receive error
