Windows Media Player 12 is consuming 100% of a CPU core RRS feed

  • WMP12,  Whenever I attempt to change location in a WMV movie file, it takes 100% of a core for a minute or so, and is unresponsive.

    I would like to verify if you installed any third party codec. Where is the file WMV movie file location? 

    Please perform clean boot and disable security software temporarily for a test.
