  • 1. Hey Thana, is the SQL Server VSS Writer service started?

    2. Is this a windows server 2003? Then you need to install Knowledge Base article 940349

  • Hey Thana,

You actually don't have to do anything for this.  The agent is the same for file protection as for SQL protection.

The only difference is that you would need a standard agent license first and afterwards an enterprise agent license because SQL requires this.

Finally, to protect your SQL, you would need:

    a) Create a new protection group and select the SQL database which will be selectable from that moment on

    b) Modify an existing protection group and add the SQL datasource to it

    Hope it helps,

  • Hi Mike,

    Thank you for your replied.

My problem is the DPM server console doesn't show new SQL that just installed. It's show only "All volumes" and "System Protection". I don't know how I can make them see new sql when I do "Modify protection group" for this protection group.

    Thank in advance
