Question around need for known provider and certificate for hosted Proj Srv 2010 environment RRS feed

  • Question

  •  Hello all we've set up an environment on a hosted server. There is a domain controller (2008R2) with domain RADE.com that the database server and app srvs are in. All 2008R2 or equivalent, Project srv 2010 patched to Dec CU.

The domain RADE.com is not registered. What we do is have dyndns point a URL of RADE.mycompany.com to the IP address of the WFE in the hosted environment and we have an alternate access mapping set up for RADE.mycompany.com

mycompany.com is a registered domain under our control and setup through dyndns.

This works fine for everyone of our staff whether at home or at the office but not for the client. They sometimes get in fine for awhile but what ends up happening is that using the RADE.mycompany.com URL (only one we can use externally unless we are in the hosted environment) they get multiple login prompts with a degrading experience (icons start dissapearing )

Has anyone seen this behaviour before?

    thanking you

    Rob
