Mailing List Question - Exchange RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does Microsoft have any software that works with Exchange Server 2010 or 2016 that would provide mailing list functions similar to listserv functions?  I am referring to software or an add-in/method in which external people could self subscribe or unsubscribe to/from mailing lists?  Thank you.

  • Hi Janice,

    Welcome to Technet forum.

By my understanding, you want to external user (for example: gmail account) to use organization internal emails address list. If that we could not meet your requirement. If user has no organization internal mailbox, it could not view email address list. Microsoft didn’t have any software to have this function.

If you want to external user to view organization internal email address, you should create user mailbox for external user. However, we didn’t create a mailbox for external user.

  • You can make a powershell script that will add/delete contacts from a group such as the email

  • Hi Janice.

A bit late to this thread... but there is a list server product that works directly with Exchange distribution groups, targeting Exchange 2010, 2013 and 2016.

    It's called Active Subscriber 2017.

When it subscribes an email address that is not already in Active Directory, it creates an external mail contact. Those contacts can be hidden from the Global Address List.

Disclosure: I'm one of the developers.
