Office 2007 startup files & templates in Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • where do Word 2007 , Excel 2007 , and Powerpoint 2007 store their templates (Word 2007 equivalent to Word 2003's Normal.dot), Excel 2007's equivalent to Excel11.xlb and personal.xls in Excel 2003), and Powerpoint startup templates in Windows 2007

I have many macros written for Office 2003 that load automatically in Word, Excel and Powerpoint 2003 that I would like to have loaded in the Office 2007 programs.

    Thanks,
    Ben

  • Hi Ben

    Thanks for your post.
In Windows7 the path for Templates Folder of Office2007 is " C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates". We can access them by "My Templates" while creating new Document.
    Hope this helps you.

    Thanks and Regards

    Thanks for your reply.
In Windows 7, Excel 2007 Toolbar buttons Settings are storing in " Excel.qat "  in the folder  "  C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office  ". For more information about startup folders visit webpage http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919196/en-us .

  • Thanks, Ananda.  Can you also tell me where Excel 2007 stores its equivalent of Excel 2003's Excel11.xlb and personal.xls ?  I have a bunch of macros in Excel 2003 that I had assigned to 2003's toolbar buttons that I'd like to add to the Excel 2007 ribbon.

    Thanks again,
    Ben

  • Hi all,

The file path is there, its just pointing to the wrong thing.

If i've read this thread correctly then i understand that you guys are looking for the path to find the startup folder for Microsoft Excell.

The path is as follows. (This is generic so please fill in the gaps)

    C:\Users\"Specific.User"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

Add your username into the "Specific.User" Minus quotation marks.

    Hope this Helps
