Cannot sign-in to Power Query Data Catalog search in Excel 2016. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all Power BI experts...

I really need some help here. I have two virtual machines. On each of them I have installed Excel Microsoft professional Plus. On one box I have the 2013 version and on the other I have the 2016 version.

I can sign in to my Power BI account from booth versions without any problem and everything works fine. But here comes the issues...

On my 2013 version, I can sign in to my account from Power Query and perform searches on booth the "Data Catalog Search", and "My Data Catalog Queries" . On the 2016 version, I try to sign in to the same account and none of the above options is working...

    I got the following Message...

It doesn't matter how many times (or when) I try to sign in , the message is still the same.

    Any Ideas?

  • I fixed it...

I downloaded the ODT (Office Deployment tool) and run the update from that tool.

Now all the issues are gone. Booth my Catalog searches and Catalog queries works like a charm.

    Cheers!
