    8.1 came with my new computer and it sucks. It is not user friendly at all. I have a CD of Office 7 and it will not accept it or the key it came with. Want to go back to Windows 7. It locks, switches screens and is not compatible with the software I use. I hate it!!!

    1. Not all users are satisfied with Windows 8.1. You are not alone.

    2. Call local Microsoft Support and/or Activation center and ask if you can do downgrade. Follow their advice. I am pretty sure that you will be able to use Windows 7 and activate it over phone (Activation Center)

    3. Older versions of Office are not compatible with Windows 8.1. Check Technet documentation before you try to install any Microsoft application.

    4. More suitable forum for problems like this one is answers.microsoft.com

    5. Remember that the current forum is aimed at IT professionals and your complaints are irrelevant.
