Is it possible to make a required column blank? RRS feed

  • Is this possible, I want to be able to do this on the folder leve.

  • I don't understand the comment about the folder level.

    A normal column can be made the equivalent of blank by entering a space into it - assuming it is the kind of column where  space is allowed.


    Moving anyway to Admin as this is more an admin question than a general one (look at the posting guidelines)

    If I understood your requirement right, you are trying to leave a column blank for Folders and required for an Item. List columns work same for both cases since SP considers the folder also as an item.

  • Leaving a space in the required column was not successful when uploading a new document. Are you supposed to make the column blank in this way?
