SRT 2007 Schedule Not Running RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am not sure where to look for what is wrong, but my Sunday 1AM schedule to create recovery points on three W2k3 servers hasn't run since 6/19/11.

I just started a manual creation, we'll see how that goes.

I have looked in the event viewer and cannot find much.  the two items below were on the SRT server:

    Event Type: Failure Audit

Manual creation was successful for all three servers, but Schedule is still not running and today is July 27th.  Scheduled for July 31st next.

  • Shane,

    Thanks for the reply.

Other than manually deletting old data, I did nothing.  Now it seems to be successfully running every weekend.

I have another retired server that I plan to attempt a restore to for testing.

That should be interesting.  Restoring a Dell PE 700 to a Dell PE 830 with different hardware.

  • OK schedule ran this weekend, no understanding why.  Two servers finished and the thrid failed due to low disk space.

I am in the process of manually deleting old data, but would like to know where that can be set to automatically groom old data so I don't run it down to 428KB again?

Well it may not be the right place, but after going through the help file for a couple of hours I finall saw where to delete older restore points.  Phew

  • Hello,

You could always have process monitor ( http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx ) running right before the job is to start.
This would show if the process ever initialized OR if it initialized and just failed.

    Thanks
    Shane

  • Shane,

The server rebooted twice so far today so may be a moot point until I get that corrected.

I saw a couple iof things in the Application Events and am wondering SRT contributed.  There were also a couple in the System Events:

    Peter Jam

Well server went down again Wed afternoon and seems to be locking up.  Not having much success determining the problem.  F10 said memory, boot disk and CPUs were fine.  Looking for another way to diagnose.  The SmartStart i had paritally loaded and then locked as did the Firmware DVD.

Ended up taking it to local computer shop.  they first said it was a motherboard and then determined it was the second processor so put the old mobo back.  Server is running again but did not run schedule Sunday.

I looked in the Apps Event Viewer for anything at 1AM Sunday and found several.

Any ideas what is going on with the database?

  • Hello,

Do you still have this issue?

    Thanks,
    Shane
